It now supports desktop (Win32) apps (including File Explorer, Notepad, Command Prompt, and PowerShell), a tabbed File Explorer experience, the ability to launch apps from the new tab page by typing the app name into the search box, launching UWP apps in the same window to replace the new tab page, and icons including website favicons and app icons in the actual tabs. Since it was last available to Windows Insiders, Sets has gained a few new features. Sets currently works with first-party apps Mail, Calendar, OneNote, MSN News, Microsoft Edge, and Windows itself for a more “seamless experience.” The feature is still buggy, but you can enable or disable it under Settings => System => Multitasking. This completely flips the idea of “windows” in Windows on its head, as one app’s window can be used to open tabs that have other apps. The idea is that you should be able to open new tabs in a given window for whatever you’re working on: relevant webpages, research documents, necessary files, and so on.
